The Saudi Ministry of Interior announced the discovery of a major drug smuggling network involving nine Saudi nationals, including a Ministry of Interior employee. According to ministry sources, the Kingdom's intensified anti-narcotics campaign is yielding significant results.

Anti-narcotics teams successfully identified a dangerous network whose operatives smuggled drugs into Saudi Arabia from abroad. The network included individuals connected to various sectors: one from the Ministry of Interior, four from the Customs Department, and one associated with the Saudi Electricity Company.

Initial investigations revealed that members of the group took turns traveling abroad, bringing large quantities of drugs back into the Kingdom upon their return. During interrogation, the suspects admitted to hiding the smuggled drugs in various locations, from where they were distributed.

The Ministry of Interior emphasized its commitment to combating drug trafficking and safeguarding the Kingdom from such criminal activities.
